We thought you would appreciate some back-ground information
on how this event started.

Astonishingly, almost everyone is touched by a family member, friend, or neighbor whose child is currently being treated at Children’s Hospital. In Sheboygan County, over 4600 children annually are serviced by Children’s Hospital! In Manitowoc County, that number reaches
 over 2200 children each year.

In August of 2008, just before the Harley 105th celebration, Don Cvetan lost his brother Brian Cvetan to a tragic motorcycle accident. Brian was an active volunteer with Children’s Hospital, and truly enjoyed spending time reading to the kids. In looking for a way to both amplify Brian’s dedication to Children’s Hospital and honor him, Don and his wife Donna, searched for an idea or entity that would meet both supporting Children’s Hospital and honoring Brian’s commitment to the kids.

They came across Lakeshore Weekend, a non-profit event designed to directly benefit Children’s Hospital, which was founded in Manitowoc, WI! Rather than “reinvent the wheel”, they decided to bring this event, Lakeshore Weekend, to Sheboygan as a sister event! They have proudly partnered with Chuck Miesfeld of Miesfeld's Meats as the Presenting Sponsor, thus Miesfeld's Lakeshore Weekend, benefiting Children's Hospital of WI.

All proceeds from this event benefit Children's Hospital of Wisconsin, where lakeshore area children are referred by local physicians for specialized care. It's a wonderful partnership that benefits your family, friends and neighbors. There are 4700 visits made annually to Children's Hospital by Sheboygan County children and 2200 visits annually by Manitowoc County children.

In addition to providing superior treatment, the hospital is committed to innovative research and high quality educational programs. Located in Milwaukee, it is one of the nation's leading regional pediatric medical centers. It is the only hospital in the state dedicated solely to the care and treatment of kids.

In the past 18 years, more than $1,000,000 has been raised by Lakeshore Weekend, Manitowoc, and donated to Children's Hospital. We look forward to meeting and beating their triumphant efforts. We sincerely look forward to your support of this worthwhile event!
